Hi, I’m Taylor, and if you’re here, so glad you are. :)Welcome to my newest project, FOR.ME beaded jewelry!

In this little intro I would like to start by explaining the personal dual meaning behind the name of my brand.

For my whole life I have suffered from depression and anxiety and have learned over time that beading soothes me. It’s a healthy and safe outlet for me when things get out of control, and for this reason the creation of this company really is “FOR.ME”.

The second reason I chose this name stems from one of my favorite quotes of all time: “Men look at women. Woman watch themselves being looked at” (John Berger, Ways of Seeing). When I first saw this quote, I realized that as much as I don’t want to admit it, I constantly consider the male gaze, that I have been culturally trained to believe lies on me at all times. I walk, dress, and talk always aware of the external viewer, and attempt to gain validation and adoration from them rather than myself.

I realized that I had been looking for happiness and confidence in all the wrong places, and I believe to an extent, regardless of gender, we all do this. With this I really want people to buy pieces from me that impress themselves; Pieces that simply make THEM happy, whether it in the look of the bead patters, or the way the colors match their eyesI want people to wear my pieces and think about how beautiful they know look regardless of who is around to see them!
